The Need

In Dec 2011, Ryan was rollerblading to meet some friends at school to play basketball when he was struck by a car crossing the street. 16 days after that, he had a brain aneurysm that ruptured and caused severe damage, again, to his brain. He had global brain damage, and the doctors told his family to prepare themselves for him to never wake up. Now 3 1/2 years out, Ryan's relearned how to eat without a feeding tube and drinks from a cup. The family travels to Pittsburgh 2-3 times a year for weeks at a time for rehab, inpatient and outpatient. He has a few more surgeries coming up that they are currently researching, possibly out of state. Ryan still doesn't talk or walk on his own, and the family could really use financial assistance with the costs associated with his care and travel to see specialists.
